Have you ever had a dream of being able to just pick up and go? Sell everything (or close to it) and buy a trailer or R.V. and live in it and see where you end up?
Well let me start out on the first month of our new 5th Wheel Life, and why we love it so far even with all the trials and tribulations we have had to deal with. August 23rd, I went and looked at this 5th wheel at a small dealership (this may have not been the best move) it met all my requirements:
#1. Dining table
#2 a room with space for the kids

I fell in love with it and all the things I could do to make it feel like a cozy home. In all the house we have lived in I never made them home as I never knew how long I would be there. Now let the games begin, literally the day after my husband brought this home I was in small demo mode. I took down the window valances, took my hair dryer and took off the wall paper strip. Those two things alone opened up the space. I am looking into adding the peel and stick wall paper vs. painting. Let me tell you when everyone said use Command hooks to hang everything and don’t put in nails I thought they were kidding, but they work great!!
Ok little side tracked there, I mentioned that I love this trailer but its got it rough edges. It’s a 2007 model:
I had to get new tires (which is no big deal really as I knew they were old when we bought it I prefer having tires that are safe as my family is in this full-time now.)
We had to get new batteries ok understandable (we will be installing solar here in the near future).
My not so excited side of this we should have did some more looking through things, because we lost ALL of our food from the fridge and freezer as it quit working. I tried to save what I could in coolers but have gone through a lot of ice. Apparently this problem was due to a recall on the circuit board, but the original owner nor the dealership fixed this. (Side note: all worked when my husband picked up the trailer) Thankfully we found an amazing mobile R.V. mechanic and he has been out working to fix the problem. Above all else has been wonderful at helping us figure it all out, we are both new to all things R.V. we were tent camping family before this.
How about some fun stuff? The kids are getting settled in the 5th wheel as is our daughters cat, and our 3 dogs. If you look closely at the 5th wheel picture above Hondo one of the pups is sitting in the door way. I can’t wait to take this same picture when he is full-grown!
