New Livestock and updates!

This past year many things have been changing here on the farm. We have added 2 Angus cross heifer calves. They started as bottle babies that we hope to breed this coming year. Both have totally different personalities! Elouise is the sweet loving type while Marth is definitely the firecracker of the two.

Elouise & Martha

Also new to the us is 2 Kune pigs both male one year olds and boy let me tell you these boys are big but also big babies! They came to us from a friend, goodness I remember when they got them they were so little compared to now!

Tony & Thomas

The goats have been doing great we have down sized the herd from 26 to 10. However more babies will be coming later this winter. Needless to say new fencing and good reinforcement will be happening in the goat field here soon! Plus the barn roof will be going up before the snow falls.

Twin boys this spring. The mama and them just went to their new home last weekend.
Here’s Martha out laying while Callie Tater’s new pup keeps watch.

The farm seems to grow a little more all the time. With the weather changing winter prep is in full swing. From stocking up on hay and firewood to the new barn roof. We’re getting there before we know it the snow will be falling. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for crockpot chili & soups with homemade bread on those cold nights! Recipes to come!

We have babies!

Wholly tolledo you guys! Unicorn had triplets 🤩 she was not the one that I thought was closest but here they are!!

I will post more soon! We have 2 more ready to drop at any time.

My apologies I have been having difficulty with posting on my computer my phone however is great. I will update on the birds and everything else soon!

Our New boy is here! Plus updates…

A week ago we brought home out new Nigerian Dwarf Buck. He’s 6 months and defiantly needs to be handled more. Fallin has been out with me trying to earn his trust. He’s so little and cute! He got to take his first tour out on the big field he didn’t know what to do. We have been going back and forth on names for him and I have received many great ideas.

Fallin and I have decided the best fitting name is Billy! Going old school original. Thank you to those who helped with names. We will have many more to name soon.

Edit Update: email just received Mystery box rescheduled to ship the 17th due to hatching backup. Things happen for a reason it’s all good!

Mystery Box Update: the box of chicks, ducks, and turkeys (not sure what mix is coming) should ship today I am crossing my fingers they come in tomorrow before I leave. If for some reason they get here while I am gone I have instructed Eric and Fallin to take LOTS of pictures! The excitement is building it’s been like delaying Christmas.

Also the doe’s are getting closer I am guessing my dates are off on when they are due by about a month. The pens will be done this week so no worries there. With my past birthing season my animals usually deliver when I am out of town. So again I have let Fallin know to take lots of pictures if we have surprises this weekend.

Stay tuned many thing happening this month…
